Retreat Terms & Participation Agreement
Mary Baker Wellness Retreats
Please read the following Terms & Participation Agreement carefully before booking and attending a Mary Baker Wellness retreat. By registering for a retreat, submitting payment, or participating in retreat activities, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms below.
Retreat Participation & Assumption of Risk
Participation in a wellness retreat involves activities such as yoga, movement practices, outdoor excursions, travel, and other experiences that carry inherent risks. These may include, but are not limited to, physical injury, illness, accidents, transportation incidents, or unforeseen circumstances.
By participating in this retreat, you acknowledge that:
• You are voluntarily participating in retreat activities.
• You understand the physical nature of yoga, movement, and wellness practices.
• You accept full responsibility for your participation and personal safety.
You agree to release and hold harmless Mary Baker Wellness, its owner, facilitators, staff, contractors, and partners from any claims, damages, injuries, or losses that may occur during the retreat.
Health & Physical Readiness
Guests are responsible for ensuring they are physically and medically able to participate in retreat activities.
By attending the retreat, you confirm that:
• You are in sufficient physical and mental health to participate in yoga and retreat activities.
• You will notify the organizer of any injuries, medical conditions, or limitations that may affect your participation.
• You will practice within your personal limits and modify activities when needed.
Participation in all activities is voluntary, and you may choose not to participate in any activity at any time.
Mary Baker Wellness is not responsible for injuries or health issues that arise during or after participation.
Medical Emergency Authorization
In the event of a medical emergency during the retreat, you authorize Mary Baker Wellness or its representatives to seek medical care on your behalf if you are unable to do so.
You understand and agree that:
• Any medical costs incurred are your sole responsibility.
• Mary Baker Wellness does not assume responsibility for medical expenses, evacuation, or healthcare services.
Travel Responsibility
Guests are responsible for arranging and managing their own travel to and from the retreat location unless otherwise specified.
Mary Baker Wellness is not responsible for:
• flight delays or cancellations
• transportation disruptions
• missed transfers or connections
• travel-related expenses
Guests are strongly encouraged to plan travel carefully and allow adequate time for arrival.
Travel InsuranceTravel insurance is strongly recommended and may be required for certain retreats.
Travel insurance should ideally include coverage for:
• trip cancellation or interruption
• medical care abroad
• emergency evacuation
• lost or delayed luggage
Mary Baker Wellness is not responsible for financial losses related to travel disruptions, illness, or unexpected circumstances.
Alcohol & Personal Responsibility
Some retreats may include wine or alcoholic beverages as part of the cultural or dining experience.
Guests acknowledge that:
• Consumption of alcohol is entirely voluntary.
• Guests are responsible for their personal choices regarding alcohol.
• Participation in activities while under the influence of alcohol is at the guest’s own risk.
Mary Baker Wellness assumes no responsibility for incidents related to alcohol consumption.
Guest Conduct & Community Respect
Retreats are designed to create a safe, respectful, and supportive group environment.
Guests agree to:
• behave respectfully toward other participants, staff, and local hosts
• respect retreat spaces, accommodations, and property
• support a positive and inclusive group environment
Mary Baker Wellness reserves the right to remove a participant from the retreat without refund if their behavior is disruptive, unsafe, or negatively impacts the experience of others.
Photography & Media Release
During the retreat, photographs or video may be taken to capture moments from the experience.
Unless a participant specifically opts out in writing before the retreat, guests grant permission for Mary Baker Wellness to use these images for promotional purposes including:
• website content
• social media
• future retreat marketing
Mary Baker Wellness will always strive to use images respectfully and in alignment with the retreat experience.
Force Majeure
Mary Baker Wellness shall not be held liable for any delay, modification, or cancellation of a retreat due to events beyond reasonable control.
These events may include but are not limited to:
• natural disasters
• severe weather
• pandemics or public health emergencies
• government travel restrictions
• transportation strikes or closures
• political instability
• acts of God or other unforeseen circumstances
In such cases, Mary Baker Wellness will make reasonable efforts to provide alternative arrangements when possible but cannot guarantee refunds for costs incurred outside of retreat fees.
Personal Property
Guests are responsible for their personal belongings throughout the retreat.
Mary Baker Wellness is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items during the retreat.
Payment & Cancellation Policy
Retreat deposits and payments are subject to the cancellation terms outlined at the time of booking.
Unless otherwise stated:
• deposits are non-refundable
• cancellations within the stated cancellation window may result in partial or full forfeiture of payments
Due to the advance planning required for retreats, exceptions cannot typically be made.
Travel insurance is recommended to protect your investment.
Acknowledgment & Agreement
By registering for and attending a Mary Baker Wellness retreat, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Participation Agreement.
You also confirm that you understand the nature of retreat activities and voluntarily accept all associated risks.
